Why do I insist on being a planner when I'm not that good at it??
Plan: To work out. Sometime. EVER.
Really the only time I have to work out is at lunch time. So why are my lunchtimes full all the time?! And when they are not I say "I am too busy today, I will workout tomorrow" and when tomorrow comes.... there's something I forgot I had to do.
Run home and make lunch for Army Boy, lunch meeting, lunch event, bank appt, downtown errand... things I can't do at any other time. ARGH.
Oh how I wish I had a normal schedule.

One thing I insist upon with my clients is that they schedule an appointment for whatever it is they want to be doing (usually it's writing or exercising), and then stick to it like it's a dentist appointment or a meeting or whatever.
Take it *that* seriously. Don't tell others what you're doing, just say, "I'm sorry, I have an appointment then..."
If you don't make these little commitments a priority (and, in the course of a day, one hour for yourself is not a lot to ask), you can be certain of one thing: no one else will make them a priority, either.
I know, it's hard. I'm a working writing Mom and I really don't remember a normal schedule either! My kids are 14 and 11 and there is always a new schedule in the fall and the less-structured schedule of the summer, but every year, even these take on different forms.
But there's something very empowering about making those self appointments and sticking to them; it reminds you that in all the bustle of your life, your physical health and creative life are still a priority.
Remember, the more complete you are as a woman, the better you'll be wearing all the different hats you wear.
